Unsurprisingly, it has also failed to advertise that fact.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-content\">\n<p>The news of EV and green energy subsidies flew under the radar until a poll conducted in Arizona alerted voters there to the scheme. Fully three-quarters of Arizona voters polled (76 percent) said they didn\u2019t know the <a href=\"https:\/\/grandcanyontimes.com\/stories\/652695317-poll-76-of-arizonans-unaware-that-medicare-savings-went-to-green-projects-under-biden-s-inflation-reduction-act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Biden administration diverted money from Medicare \u201csavings\u201d<\/a> to subsidize green projects, and by an 80-10 margin, respondents strongly opposed such a tactic.<\/p>\n<div id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1562979868\" class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><iframe id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/1011927,45516661\/TFC_300_by_250_top_1\" width=\"0\" height=\"0\" sandbox=\"allow-forms allow-pointer-lock allow-popups allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-top-navigation-by-user-activation allow-presentation\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe>The information came from a report by Americans for Tax Reform (ATR), which<\/div>\n<div class=\"mb-30\">shows the inaccurately named Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 diverted some $280 billion from Medicare\u2019s prescription drug provisions to green tax credits and other leftist climate initiatives \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atr.org\/bidens-inflation-reduction-act-was-never-intended-to-reduce-inflation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">instead of lowering prescription drug costs for seniors<\/a>. The ATR report reveals the so-called Inflation Reduction Act as nothing more than a pork-laden payoff to cronies and an effort by the Biden administration to implement the Green New Deal.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>EVs have had a rotten track record in recent years. Example after example s<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-146\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sterlingcooper.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Screenshot-251-300x217.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"217\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sterlingcooper.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Screenshot-251-300x217.png 300w, https:\/\/www.sterlingcooper.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Screenshot-251-768x554.png 768w, https:\/\/www.sterlingcooper.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Screenshot-251-624x450.png 624w, https:\/\/www.sterlingcooper.info\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Screenshot-251.png 812w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>hows what a terrible investment they are. In Florida, <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/hurricane-ian-flood-damage-evs-creating-ticking-time\/story?id=91795016\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EVs caught fire<\/a> in the aftermath of flooding from Hurricane Ian in 2022. Several EVs burst into flames and then reignited later. This year, a Tesla lost control and rolled down a boat ramp into the intercoastal waterway \u2014 the fire department reportedly had no choice but to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/HollywoodProfessionalFirefighters\/posts\/pfbid02saxy8HA1zYHLYH2wVLAzSVEZdZi7oJawqycE4P1Tup1zAePucDKNSFjgcMNeEsszl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">let it burn itself out underwater<\/a>. Fire departments are fully unprepared to deal with the types of fires caused by the interaction of rare-earth elements in EV batteries and exposure to water.<\/p>\n<p>More to the point, EVs also represent a terrible fiscal commitment. One report indicates electric vehicles depreciate in value by roughly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/electric-vehicles-see-value-depreciate-nearly-50-five-year-span-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">50 percent over the first five years of their lives<\/a>, significantly more than standard vehicles. This stands to reason, as the batteries are prohibitively expensive to replace and owners can expect to spend <a href=\"https:\/\/info.mitchell.com\/plugged-in-q3-2023-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">more on repairs to EVs<\/a> than standard gasoline-powered vehicles. That helps to explain why they\u2019re more difficult and more expensive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.consumerreports.org\/money\/car-insurance\/electric-vehicles-cost-more-to-insure-than-gasoline-powered-a6372607024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">to insure<\/a> as well.<\/p>\n<p>EVs don\u2019t save the average consumer on refueling costs, either. The equivalent price of \u201crefueling\u201d an EV works out to approximately <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecentersquare.com\/national\/article_a609f8aa-7443-11ee-83d3-df5b22909078.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$17 per \u201cgallon\u201d<\/a> in a comparable internal combustion engine vehicle. That cost includes tax credits, rebates, subsidies to vehicle manufacturers, and regulations and mandates by various agencies.<\/p>\n<p>EV owners experience the real sensation of \u201crange anxiety,\u201d in which the limited range of a battery charge, combined with a lack of charging station infrastructure outside of major metropolitan areas, leads drivers to wonder if they\u2019ll get stranded somewhere with a dead car. Perhaps this explains why EVs have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2023\/nov\/24\/biden-doles-out-billions-in-subsidies-for-electric\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sat unsold by the thousands<\/a> at car lots across the nation \u2014 not that you\u2019d know it from listening to the corporate media. Holiday commercials continue to encourage viewers to buy that special someone a luxury electric SUV for Christmas, despite increasing reports of malfunctions, expensive repairs, <a href=\"https:\/\/wirepoints.org\/emerging-scandal-why-are-we-giving-8-billion-to-chinese-company-with-ccp-ties-to-build-a-2-billion-il-battery-factory-wirepoints\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">deep ties<\/a> to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and a thorough lack of consumer enthusiasm for these expensive new products.<\/p>\n<p>The massive subsidies the Biden administration pays to the green energy industry overall seem to go into a giant rat hole, which makes using the Medicare drug savings to pay for them all the more insulting. For instance, one California-based luxury EV manufacturer, Lucid, <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/695176\/lucid-lost-money-on-every-car-it-made-in-q3-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">loses $430,000 <em>on each vehicle it sells<\/em><\/a><em>. <\/em>Ford also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2022\/11\/17\/23464509\/general-motors-ev-profit-1-million-annual-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">loses thousands<\/a> on every <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestreet.com\/technology\/ford-loses-nearly-60000-for-every-electric-vehicle-sold\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EV it sells<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite all the problems, the Biden administration continues to subsidize the manufacture and sale of EVs to advance its decarbonization and net-zero goals.
